Teaching
Meagan believes every student has the ability to grow as a musician when they are given the right combination of guidance, encouragement, and challenge. Her teaching is centered on developing strong fundamentals while fostering curiosity, confidence, and a genuine love of music. Whether working with beginning oboists, advanced students preparing for auditions, or adult musicians returning to the instrument, each lesson is tailored to meet the individual goals and learning style of every student.
Drawing from her experience as a performer and educator, Meagan emphasizes healthy technique, beautiful tone production, musical expression, and effective practice strategies. Students will also gain a deeper understanding of reed adjustment and maintenance, helping them become more independent and successful musicians. Her goal is not only to help students become better oboists, but also to inspire a lifelong appreciation for music and equip her students with the skills and confidence to perform at their highest potential.
